Whiffle’s ultra-high resolution atmospheric model, based on Large Eddy Simulation (LES), is ideally suited for wind energy applications. The model accurately captures local weather and flow phenomena impacting the wind energy production of wind turbines such as global blockage effects, internal and external wake effects, land-sea interaction, vegetation, obstacles, orography and many more. The model is therefore the perfect technology for wind power forecasts or wind resource assessments.
